DATA SOURCES

Where records come from.

FoodChecker organizes reviewed public records from federal food-safety authorities and clearly labeled demonstration records used in beta testing.

ImportantFoodChecker is independent. It is not an official government source, and its database may be delayed, incomplete or changed after publication. The linked original notice remains controlling.

FDA

Food and beverage recalls, market withdrawals and safety alerts. FoodChecker links the original notice and records the source update and review time when available.

USDA FSIS

Meat, poultry and processed egg-product recalls and public-health alerts, with the original FSIS notice linked.

CDC

Foodborne outbreak investigations, case counts and affected regions. Outbreak geography is kept separate from product distribution whenever the source permits.

State and local sources

Future coverage may include state agriculture and health departments where records can be sourced reliably.

Timing and limitations

Agency publications may be delayed, revised or incomplete. FoodChecker will display source timestamps and the last successful system check. The original record remains controlling.
